The Accounting Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based at our North Augusta, SC location. This role supports the dealership’s accounting and finance operations by processing invoices, receipts, and payments, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly reports. The Accounting Assistant helps maintain accurate financial records, enters data into accounting software, and supports the preparation and review of financial statements and schedules.
Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing and filing accounting documents, responding to internal inquiries, coordinating with the sales and service departments on billing and posting, and assisting with month-end closing activities. The role requires strong attention to detail, consistent follow-through, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented dealership environment.
- Demonstrated skills in Accounting and Finance for day-to-day dealership support
- Experience with Financial Statements, including preparation, review, or reconciliation
- Proficiency with Accounting Software and related systems used for data entry and reporting
- Solid Bookkeeping skills, including account reconciliation and record maintenance
- Strong numerical aptitude, accuracy, and attention to detail in all tasks
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a busy environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative working style
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred
- Prior experience in automotive dealership accounting or similar retail environment is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and comfort learning new systems
