Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher

Epic Special Education Staffing seeks a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for the school year. In this school-based role, you will provide specialized instruction and support to DHH students, using ASL, spoken language, or total communication to meet individual needs. Responsibilities include assessing skills, developing and implementing IEPs, integrating assistive listening technology, and collaborating with teachers, audiologists, and families. Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students using ASL, spoken language, or total communication as appropriate.
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs aligned with students' language, academic, and social-emotional needs.
• Assess student skills, track progress, and adjust instructional strategies using data.
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, SLPs, audiologists, and families to support access to curriculum.
• Consult with school teams on accommodations, FM/assistive listening devices, captioning, and visual supports.
• Support students' self-advocacy, communication, and independence across school environments.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with IDEA and district policies.
• Provide in-service training or coaching to staff on effective strategies for DHH students.
• Engage in ongoing professional development in Deaf education and inclusive practices.
