Product Design and Process Improvement Engineer

Needed immediately: A Process Engineer / R&D Engineer in North Augusta, SC. Candidate should have a strong background in manufacturing and with proven problem-solving and analytical skills, willing to lead the company’s Continuous Improvement Program.

Experience with tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Six-Sigma and Lean Manufacturing are preferred.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is a plus,but not mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years' experience
• Proven experience in process improvement within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) a plus
• Hands-on experience with sewing and RF heat sealing technologies, a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
• Excellent project management and organizational capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

• Process Improvement:
• Analyze current manufacturing processes and review KPI trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize process efficiencies and material flow, and reduce waste.
• Update, develop and document Standard Work for new and existing processes to enhance product quality and OEE. Set up and maintain a robust archive system for production-related documents using a Document Control system
• Identify and log opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs to improve profitability
• Lead the company’s CI Program as coach and implementor
• New Projects:
• Support the production of prototypes for new projects and assist with pre-production planning activities prior to launch of production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during the production process.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate with, and form, cross-functional teams, to drive operational improvements
• Develop a reporting system to track improvements and to support EOS KPI’s
• Deploy strong organizing & planning skills to maximize cross-functional effectiveness
