Job Summary

Registered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients' care while maintaining a positive, supportive environment. As the front‑line representative of the care team, the RN serves as the intermediary between the patient, family, providers, and other team members, and supports shared governance through service on councils or sponsored activities.

• Patient Care and Coordination: Monitor and evaluate patient conditions, implement care plans with independent judgment, coordinate patient flow, maintain documentation, and ensure safe and effective care per policies and procedures.
• Patient Advocacy and Satisfaction: Listen to patient and family concerns, provide education, communicate necessary information, and prioritize actions to support patient‑centered care and satisfaction.
• Performance Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, contribute ideas, support change implementation, and align with initiatives that enhance patient outcomes and organizational performance.
• Professional Competency and Growth: Maintain professional licenses and certifications, complete required training, stay current with best practices, and pursue opportunities for leadership development.
• Professional Leadership: Mentor and precept other nurses, foster a supportive work environment, uphold confidentiality and safety standards, and participate in peer feedback and recruitment efforts.
• Other Assigned Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with all Wellstar Health System policies and standards.

• Associates in Nursing or Diploma (Nurse)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing – Preferred

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent within 180 days of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent
• Registered Nurse (RN) – Single State or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑state Compact)
