Job Description Summary
Monitors, inspects, and evaluates products to ensure predetermined quality standards are met. Develops and updates testing-related documentation, including test cases, plans, and flaw‑reporting procedures.
Responsibilities- Provides focus, attention and energy to strategically important product lines.
- Manages quality engineering aspects of products.
- Facilitates problem solving and develops quality systems to support customer requirements.
- Performs quality assurance activities within the product-development cycle and implements statistical methods.
- Oversees the product‑line lifecycle from raw material to customer satisfaction, covering all manufacturing processes.
- Manages quality assurance and control activities with a ‘Right First Time’ mindset.
- Continually improves processes to support operations.
- Builds relationships with customers to minimize charge‑back costs.
- Supports the strategic plan for a world‑class quality experience.
- Maintains ISO
9001 compliance and leads the internal audit program. - Establishes, implements and maintains documented procedures for inspection, measuring and test equipment.
- Documents process capability studies, including Repeatability & Reproducibility (R&R) and correlations.
- Ensures raw material specifications are verified during goods receiving and that production specifications align with customer technical specs.
- Utilizes APQP, statistical analysis, PPAP, and problem‑solving tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Influences all functional departments to align compliance and performance with business and industry standards.
- Encourages plant process owners to take accountability for key processes.
- Champions quality initiatives and drives benefits to stakeholders at all levels.
- Supports Lab Manager with physical test data review and product sample review.
- Supports QC with inspection and related processes, including review and disposition of work‑in‑process and finished goods products.
- Aids in receipt of return material authorizations and re‑testing of returns.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in a chemical/manufacturing environment or a technical role.
- Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma experience with statistical analysis and problem solving (DOE).
- High level understanding of quality tools:
Process Capability, Root Cause Analysis, G8D, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, and Control Plans. - Excellent people, communication, team‑building, and organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and Minitab.
- Team player capable of working cross‑functionally to develop practical solutions.
- Prior experience with ISO or a similar quality audit process.
