Party and Event Specialist

Job Summary

Event Coordinator – Chicago North Aurora, IL – Plan, coordinate, and facilitate in‑store events such as birthdays and craft classes while delivering outstanding customer service.

• Plan, schedule and execute multiple in‑store events, ensuring a safe, fun, and engaging experience for all ages.
• Assist guests with product selection, provide fast checkout, and enroll them in the Rewards program.
• Manage event logistics: set up, break down, clean, administer add‑ons (goody bags, balloons, face‑painting). Create backup plans and adjust as needed.
• Maintain store operational standards: truck unload, stocking, planogram compliance, merchandise recovery, and store recovery standards.
• Serve as a cross‑trained point of contact for custom framing, BOPIS, and SFS processes.
• Complete administrative duties: emails, phone calls, paperwork, and VOC surveys.
• Adhere to SOPs, safety, and shrink programs, and promote a clean store environment.

• Retail or customer‑service experience required.
• Experience planning events for children and adults.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal, non‑verbal) and active listening.
• Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem‑solving skills.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and able to handle stress while interacting with guests and coworkers.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout the store.
• Must meet U.S. legal eligibility requirements.

Work may include nights, weekends, and early mornings. The role requires standing for long periods, lifting heavy boxes, and operating ladders or similar equipment. Some outdoor work may be required to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks.
