Permanent Substitute Teacher

Woods Road Elementary School in the North Babylon Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated, reliable, and enthusiastic permanent substitute teacher for the  school year. This is a full-time position where the successful candidate will report daily to the building and provide instructional support needed across various subject areas and grade levels.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing coverage for classroom teachers during absences
• Implementing lesson plans left by teachers or delivering prepared instructional materials
• Maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment
• Assisting with supervision duties throughout the school day (hallways, cafeteria, arrival/dismissal, etc)
• Being flexible and ready to work in a variety of classrooms and with different student needs

Qualifications:

• Valid New York State Teaching Certification (any content area)
• Prior classroom experience preferred
• Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
• Ability to adapt to different teaching environments quickly and effectively
• A commitment to fostering a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment for all students
