Merchandising Assistant Manager

Overview

As a Merchandise Assistant Manager at Dollar Tree, you’ll join the Store Manager in leading a dynamic team of associates and creating positive experiences for the communities we serve. Your focus will be on merchandising and processing freight.

• Assist with all store functions and day‑to‑day activities.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
• Maintain store areas (stockroom, sales floor) to company standards.
• Process corporate directives such as Pull & Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (bathrooms, floors, trash, overall neatness).
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment and professional interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Assist with processing receipt and return of free‑ship‑to‑store (DSD) merchandise.
• Manage freight flow according to productivity standards.
• Order and stock merchandise needs, including frozen & refrigerated items, per productivity standards.
• Maintain displays, clip strips, power panels and ensure sales effectiveness.
• Plan & implement monthly sales planners.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to lift 30‑50 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting demands.
