Cask Specialist

At Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, we know the best experiences start with a warm welcome. Whether you're arriving for a relaxing getaway or clocking in for your shift. Here, hospitality is personal, teamwork is real, and people genuinely look out for one another. When you join our team, you're stepping into a workplace where you can learn, grow, and take pride in creating memorable moments across the entire property.

We bring energy, heart, and professionalism to everything we do, by building not only unforgettable guest experiences, but a workplace we're proud to call our own.

Be part of a team that's shaping one of the premier destinations for gaming and hospitality. A place where guests and team members alike feel right at home on Oregon's beautiful southern coast and beyond.

Why This Job Matters

This role is the hands-on heartbeat of our co-branded Cask Club inside the Plank House. You make sure every barrel fill, tasting, and bottling moment feels personal, polished, and on-point-while keeping our back-of-house process clean, organized, accurate, and compliant. When members trust us with their barrel, you're the person who turns that trust into a bottle they're proud to show off.

This role is about more than pouring or selling casks. It's about creating an experience that feels intentional, welcoming, and unmistakably Ko-Kwel. One where members feel proud to belong and excited to come back.

What You Bring To The Table
  • Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
  • You create a welcoming, "you're in the right place" feeling for Cask Club members, whether they're visiting for a tasting, a bottling, or their very first conversation about joining.
  • You translate member preferences into beautifully executed bottling orders, including pulling the right cask, measuring volumes, tracking proofs, cleaning bottles, and labeling with care and precision.
  • You support cask fills with calm confidence, including prepping barrels, confirming fill requests, gathering approved additives/flavorings, and documenting each fill clearly and correctly.
  • You communicate with warmth and clarity, confirming completed bottlings or fills, setting expectations on timelines, and making pickup feel easy and friendly.
  • You keep the member experience smooth by navigating program records accurately, including fill/bottling history, approved tasters, renewal status, and past preferences.
  • You host member tastings like a great guide, helping people understand where their spirit is in the aging journey and what their next-best step could be.
  • You help preserve the magic by participating in recipe development and keeping recipes organized, accessible, and updated when something turns out especially well.
  • You support memberships and renewals in the POS with confidence, and you can explain the "why" behind the program without sounding salesy.
  • You help the broader team stay consistent by reinforcing training on sign-ups, renewals, bottling orders, additions, and approved taster updates.
  • You keep the cask and bottling areas clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready, and you flag equipment needs early so nothing surprises the team or the member.
  • You handle daily admin with steady follow-through by monitoring the inbox, logging new requests, and keeping documentation current and easy to audit.
  • You protect the integrity of the program by documenting movement and compliance details accurately, including required entries and keeping barrels aligned to the cask map and assigned slots.
  • You support thoughtful outreach, including helping the Cask Club Manager connect with members when they're nearing peak aging windows or when confirmations are needed.
  • You help keep supplies and inventory in a healthy place, including bottling materials, additives pantry levels, and periodic checks on filled/empty casks and pending pickups.
  • Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)
Must-Haves, Nice-To-Haves, And Maybe Some Bonus Points

  • Previous experience in food & beverage, retail, or guest service helps you hit the ground running.
  • Comfort handling bottles, supplies, and detailed tasks with care and accuracy.
