Work schedule:

Monday – Thursday: 8:50 a.m. – 3:50 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break and one 30-minute unpaid meal break);
Friday: 8:50 a.m. – 1:50 p.m. (includes one 15-minute paid break);
Weekly hours: 31

Wage: $25.17 – $29.27 per hour (2025-26 PSE Salary Schedule; 2026-27 TBD)

Work Calendar: 2026-27 PSE PARA ELEMENTARY M-F

Position Summary

Under the direction of a certificated staff member, assists in the delivery of educational programs to individual or small groups of students in a variety of settings. These settings include, but are not limited to, special and general education classrooms; community sites, and vocational sites on and off school campuses. Daily schedule generally includes some shifts of outdoor recess, bus arrival/dismissal, and/or lunchroom supervision.

Wa State Para educator Requirements
  • At least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • In addition, a para educator must also meet one of the following:
  • Have received a passing score on one of the assessments approved by the Para educator Board ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).); OR
  • Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; OR
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; OR
  • Have completed an apprenticeship as a para educator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council.
Upon Hire, Successful Candidate Must Provide
  • A copy of a High School diploma or HS transcripts, or acceptable equivalent document.
  • Official post secondary transcript(s).

  • Insurance:
    This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, provided the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year.
  • Retirement Plans: 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid Holidays:
    Up to 13 paid holidays per year. The number of holidays depends on the employee's start and end dates.
  • Paid Time Off: 12 days of paid vacation per school year for 12-month employees; 12 days of sick leave for 237–260 day employees; up to 3 days of personal leave per school year. Leave accrual depends on scheduled hours and start date.
  • Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority under the School Employees Benefits Board.  for an overview of available benefit options.

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
