Position: American Sign Language Interpreter - Extended School Year

American Sign Language Interpreter – Extended School Year

Assignment type:
Temporary.
Anticipated start date:
July 14, 2026.
Anticipated end date:
July 23, 2026.
Wage: $38.12 – $41.00 per hour (2025‑26 PSE Salary Schedule).

Schedule:

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.;
Friday:
Not scheduled. Total weekly hours: 12.

Responsibilities

This position is to serve as an American Sign Language interpreter assigned to support deaf or hard‑of‑hearing students.

Qualifications
  • Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher and passing EIPA written test; or National Interpreter Certification from the Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf (RID) and passing EIPA written test; or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR/AED card.
Benefits

Insurance:
This summer‑school position alone is not eligible for insurance. If combined with another position or assignment during the school year and an employee is anticipated to work at least 630 hours in a school year, the employee is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long‑term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

Retirement Plan:
Eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.

Not eligible.

Paid Time Off:
Not eligible.

* Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
