Position: Tanner Electric Cooperative Journeyman Lineman $20K Bonus

Tanner Electric Cooperative is seeking a Journeyman Electrical Lineworker to join our team in North Bend, Washington. This position performs a wide range of work including construction, maintenance and operation of our overhead and underground transmission and distribution system, operation of equipment, and some interaction with co‑op members. This is a full‑time, bargaining unit position.

Tanner is offering a $20,000 bonus to the right candidate.

Journeyman Lineman

Reporting to: North Bend, WA

Wage: $74.48/hr. with full benefits

Duties
  • Construct, install, and maintain overhead/underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment.
  • Work above ground on poles or steel towers in all types of weather and at night.
  • Make emergency repairs.
  • Operate man‑lift equipment, including boom trucks, bucket trucks, or other specialized equipment above, on, or near energized lines.
  • String, splice, transfer, and sag wire on energized/de‑energized circuits using a variety of tools, splices, and connectors.
  • Construct, install, remove, transfer, maintain, and repair transformers, current transformers, meters, switches, circuit breakers, all overhead/URD equipment, and devices, poles, cross arms, insulators, guys, using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Perform line switching/sectionalizing as directed, phase and connect circuits under load, and balance circuits as required.
  • Inspect lines, poles, and URD/above ground equipment for signs of damage or wear and report deficiencies.
  • Assist in all operations involved in the construction or replacement of wood poles and steel towers.
  • Troubleshoot problems on Cooperative equipment using line testing tools/procedures.
  • Trim trees, remove fall‑danger trees, and clear ROW in the vicinity of energized power lines.
  • Direct the activities of personnel in equal or lower classifications.
  • Assist in training apprentices and other crew members.
  • Demonstrate clear, correct, verbal/written communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Journeyman Lineman
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • This position is subject to random drug testing
  • Journeyman in good standing with the IBEW
  • Hold or be able to obtain a valid WA State Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and Medical Certificate within 90 days
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic computer operation skills
