Registered Nurse - Med​/Surg - Observation Cohort - F​/T Nights

About This Role

The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population, focusing on expanding knowledge and skills while providing effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team. • Location: North Bergen, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Schedule: Full-time, Night shift

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a patient-centered plan of care with specific goals/outcomes.
• Communicate and implement the plan of care effectively.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administer medications utilizing advanced bar-scanning technologies.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of patient outcomes.
• Adhere to established protocols and document patient care accurately.

Education:

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required; BSN in progress preferred.

Experience:

• 6+ months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current RN License in New Jersey required by date of hire.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.
• National Certification in area of specialty preferred when eligible.
