Catering Supervisor

Our client is a historic Cambridge college seeking an experienced Catering Supervisor to support the smooth running of its catering and hospitality operations. This is a hands-on role involving day-to-day service, staff supervision and the delivery of a high standard of food and customer service across college dining and events. The successful candidate will work closely with the wider catering and hospitality teams, helping to ensure services run efficiently and that students, staff, guests and visitors receive a welcoming and professional experience.

Key Responsibilities Supervise catering and front-of-house staff during daily food service, formal meals, events and functions. Coordinate service arrangements, allocate duties and support the effective running of busy catering operations. Maintain high standards of customer service, food presentation, cleanliness and health and safety. Assist with staff training, onboarding and the implementation of catering procedures and service standards. Monitor stock levels, support ordering and help ensure catering supplies are available when required.

Candidate Requirements Previous supervisory experience within catering, hospitality, food service or a similar environment. A practical, hands-on approach with the ability to lead by example during service. Strong customer service and communication skills. Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures. Experience supervising, training or coordinating staff. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

A professional, reliable and flexible approach to work. Willingness to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays when required. This role would suit an experienced hospitality or catering professional looking for a supervisory position within a unique and established environment.
