Middle School Support Secretary
This position provides a wide range of support to the school. Responsibilities include secretarial support, front office support, accounting support, and facilities support. The middle school support secretary maintains records, performs clerical tasks, prepares reports, and provides customer service to students, parents, and staff.

Reports to Building Administrator.
Works in a school setting and office environment; frequent interruptions; daily and prolonged exposure to visual display terminal; may be required to sit or stand for prolonged periods; requires dexterity; requires ability to lift or carry up to 30 lbs; occasionally deals with upset parents, students or staff.
Education and Experience:
High school graduation or equivalent with two or more years of office experience involving computer and record-keeping skills; experience working with adolescents and the public; school district work experience preferred.
Training in computer operation, secretarial procedures, data entry and/or customer service may substitute on a month-to-month basis for one year of required office experience.
Knowledge of general secretarial procedures and library practices; knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and English usage; ability to operate office equipment and computers; ability to maintain confidential information and records; ability to organize and set priorities; ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to read, speak, write, and compute effectively; ability to exercise independent judgment, remain flexible, and work effectively under pressure;
ability to interact with adolescents and parents in a warm, caring, and confident manner; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
Ability to operate computers and learn specific software programs
Salary: $34.83 - $39.97 hourly. Salary is based upon the current 2025-26 NEOPA Salary Schedule Salary (Level
F) (2026-27 School Year Salary Schedule is under review); placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources DOE. FLSA Non-Exempt. Steps 10, 12, and 15 are longevity steps.
Work Year: 195 days per year, 8.0 hours per day
