GCP Cloud Architect

We are seeking a hands‑on GCP Cloud Architect to join a growing, mission‑driven technology organization at the intersection of cloud computing, AI, and scientific innovation
. This individual will play a critical role in shaping and scaling the company’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring it is secure, reliable, and built for future growth.

Location: Seattle, WA (onsite)

Type: Full Time

Compensation: Base salary $170,000–220,000 (DOE)

Industry: Biotechnology

• Lead the design and evolution of the organization’s cloud architecture on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and highly available
• Enhance and optimize existing infrastructure and services
• Implement and strengthen cloud security best practices
• Collaborate closely with engineering and research teams to support evolving technical needs
• Take a hands‑on approach to building, deploying, and maintaining cloud solutions
• Help establish standards, processes, and long‑term architectural direction

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering/architecture
• Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Experience designing and managing scalable distributed systems
• Solid understanding of cloud security, networking, and infrastructure best practices
• Ability to operate with high ownership and autonomy
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
• Comfortable in a hands‑on, builder role (not purely strategic)

• Experience in startup environments and/or large‑scale tech companies
• Exposure to AI/ML or data‑intensive workloads
• Background in regulated or scientific industries (e.g., biotech, healthcare)

• Collaborative, fast‑moving team environment
• Opportunity to work closely with engineering leadership and technical stakeholders
• Standard business hours with occasional on‑call responsibility for critical issues
