The Lotus Paper Literary Magazine is a creative space that celebrates emerging and established voices in literature. Dedicated to showcasing diverse perspectives, the magazine publishes poetry, prose, essays, and experimental writing that ignites meaningful conversations. The editorial team is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive platform for writers and readers. Based in Bothell, WA, The Lotus Paper is driven by a passion for storytelling and a mission to enrich the literary community.

Role Description

We’re offering multiple full-time, on-site Editor roles for various different genres based in instagram. The Editor will manage the end-to-end editorial process, including reviewing submissions for our blog, collaborating with contributors, and overseeing content development for publication. Responsibilities include editing and proofreading content to maintain high-quality standards, curating thematic issues, and working closely with the design and production team to finalize layouts.

The Editor will also play a role in strategizing and implementing outreach efforts to discover new voices and expand the publication’s visibility.

Qualifications
  • Editing, Proofreading, and Copyediting skills to ensure high-quality and polished content
  • Creative Writing, Story Development, and Literary Analysis skills to work effectively with contributors and develop compelling themes
  • Collaboration skills to manage timelines and coordinate with the editorial and design teams
  • Experience in Publishing (preferebally in other nonpeofits or magazines) to strengthen the magazine’s offerings and audience engagement
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with literary communities and publications is a plu
