St. Brendan Catholic School is seeking teaching candidates for the school year applicant pool. St. Brendan Catholic Schoolis located in Bothell, WA (25 minutes from Seattle, WA). We have one class per grade in preschool through 8thgrade with a total of 255 students.
The mission of St. Brendan Catholic School, in partnership with parents and the parish community, is to educate and empower students to act as Disciples of Christ, pursue academic excellence, and serve the Church and global community. We have an active parent community as well as a supportive and engaging parish priest who enjoys spending time in the school. Our teacher candidates will work in collaboration with our dynamic, fun, and engagingmiddle school team.
Candidates must be practicing Catholics who are committed to sharing our Catholic faith with students and guiding students to achieve high academic standards. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree (preferably in education). A teaching certificate ispreferredbut we will consider highly motivated individuals who are in the process of obtaining a teaching certificate. Candidates should have good organizational and interpersonal skills. We are looking for a motivated and mission driven educator to be part of our supportive and faith-filled school community.
Successful candidates should:
1. Collaborate with principal in implementing the mission of the Parish and School. This isaccomplishedby participating in planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school's goals and objectives. The teacher is a member of the school staff and is a professional resource in designed educational specialties. Participates in regional and deanery collaborative efforts as approved and appropriate.
2. Assures the planning and implementation of instructional programs and activities that further the Catholic philosophy and goals of the school. The teacherinsuresthat the classroom atmosphere fosters knowledge of the Catholic faith, development of appropriate ethicalchoices, Catholic faithdevelopmentand Christian leadership, and integrates Gospel values in daily classroom activity.
3. Uses flexible, inclusive instructional strategies and adaptsappropriate accommodationsto ensure access, engagement, and success for diverse learners.
4. Establishes and sustains strong partnerships with parents through consistent and meaningful communication.
5. Assures the selections and organization of curriculum and instruction materials. The teacher adapts methods and materials to accommodate learnerdifferenceand plans for both long term and short-term instructional goals.
6. Assures the development of a process for learning. This isaccomplishedby presenting a clear description of the learning task and its content. The teacher instructs students,monitorsstudentunderstandingand reteaches when necessary.
7. Assures the evaluations of students' progress. This isaccomplishedthrough the interpretation of data andthe monitoring of classroom performance. The teacherutilizesthis information to improve the quality of instruction. The teacher maintains accurate and current individual records of the student's academic progress and shares this information with both the student and the parent.
8. Assures the creation and maintenance of a positive classroom environment that is conductive to learning. The teacherestablishesand maintains appropriate behaviorsand develops strategies to resolve conflict using the Positive Discipline and Love & Logic approach.
9. Assures effective oral and written communication with schooladministrator, fellow faculty members,parent sand students.
10. Maintains current level of knowledge and skillsrequiredto effectively serve asteacherand seeks continuing education through continuing education.
11. Ability to successfully integrate technology and STEM into instruction
12. Implement student support plans that provide accommodations and modifications for students with diverse learning needs.
