Position: Art Teacher PK-8 St. Brendan, Bothell
Position:
Elementary Teacher / K-8 Resource/Specialist (Part-time, ~16 hours/week, .4 FTE)
St. Brendan Catholic School seeks an innovative, energetic art teacher for the school year. The school is located in Bothell, WA (25 minutes from Seattle, WA). Our mission is to educate and empower students to act as Disciples of Christ, pursue academic excellence, and serve the Church and global community.
Candidates should be practicing Catholics committed to sharing our Catholic faith, guiding students toward high academic standards, and possessing a bachelor's degree (preferably in education). A teaching certificate is preferred; highly motivated individuals in the process of obtaining a certificate will also be considered. Good organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the principal to implement the mission of the Parish and School, participating in planning, implementation, and evaluation of the school's goals and objectives.Ensure the planning and implementation of instructional programs and activities that further Catholic philosophy and school goals, fostering a classroom atmosphere that promotes Catholic faith, ethical choices, faith development, Christian leadership, and Gospel values.Plan and organize curriculum and instruction materials, demonstrating knowledge of art standards and teaching methods, adapting to learner differences and setting long‑term and short‑term instructional goals.Develop and implement a clear learning process, presenting tasks and content, monitoring student understanding, and reteaching as necessary.Evaluate students’ progress by interpreting data, monitoring classroom performance, and using information to improve instruction; maintain accurate academic records and share them with students and parents.Create and maintain a safe classroom environment with appropriate behavior expectations, resolving conflict using Positive Discipline and Love & Logic approaches.Communicate effectively with school administrators, faculty, parents, and students, providing frequent feedback on learning goals.Maintain current knowledge and skills by staying abreast of current issues, trends, and concerns through seminars, in‑service training, workshops, and professional organization memberships.Utilize an e‑learning model as needed.Implement student support plans (with guidance from the Teacher Assistance Team) to provide accommodations and modifications for students with different learning needs.Encourage parents as primary educators in faith and support them in this responsibility.Work toward and eventually attain the Seattle Archdiocese's catechetical certification.Maintain all clearances with CICS and the Safe Environment Program.Salary
Salary Range: $24,000 – $32,000. Salary determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills and prior experience, degrees, and certifications. Benefits are not included for this part‑time position.
