We are seeking a part‑time faculty member to teach first‑year composition in the University of Washington Bothell first‑year writing program. The appointment is for a three‑month non‑renewable period, beginning September 26, 2026, and is 33.33% FTE.
Base salary range: $6,353 to $6,500 per month, commensurate with experience, or as dictated by prevailing wage determination.
Qualifications- Ph.D. or M.A. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related field, required by the time of appointment.
- Demonstrated commitment to best practices in composition studies.
- Evidence of teaching first‑year composition.
- Commitment to working with diverse students and community.
All materials must be submitted no later than May 7, 2026. Questions may be directed to Director of Composition Silvia Ferreira (sferr).
Materials should include:
- Brief cover letter detailing your interest, relevant qualifications, and experiences.
- One syllabus for a course you have taught.
- Letters of recommendation (three preferred, one mandatory) will be requested of candidates who are interviewed.
