Position DescriptionThe Physical Sciences Department of the School of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) invites applications for a Lecturer Part‑Time appointment in Physics. The position is a 9‑month service period, with a base load of 50% and a potential to increase up to 88.89% depending on curricular need. Applicants will be expected to teach between five and up to eight courses during the regular academic year, with the option to teach during summer.
This non‑tenure track, non‑voting, non‑promotion‑eligible role may be renewed for up to five years.
Primary Duties: Instructional responsibilities, including teaching introductory and upper‑level core physics courses, and supporting student learning and assessment.
Compensation and FTE: Full‑time (100%) base salary is $7,200‑$7,716 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as set by a prevailing wage determination. Salary is prorated based on the assigned FTE for the 9‑month academic year. One 5‑credit course equals 33.33% FTE; one lab equals 16.67% FTE.
QualificationsEducation:
- Ph.D. in Physics or a related field (or foreign equivalent) required by time of appointment.
