The division of Biological Sciences is a vibrant and growing community comprised of twelve full-time faculty. Our biology major was established in 2010 and graduates approximately 200 undergraduate students each year. All of our undergraduates participate in research, either within a faculty members research program, through an internship, or in a research course. The Biological Sciences faculty have recently moved into a brand new building, Innovation Hall, including state of the art labs, and facilities for plants and cell culture.

The campus also has a greenhouse, a 52-acre restored wetland, and a new environmental education center ards State Park (EERC), all of which contribute to our mission of high quality undergraduate education and research. We believe students learn biology best by engaging in the scientific process, and we are committed to teaching practices that foster learning in students from a variety of backgrounds, including students from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in science.
