The School of Nursing and Health Studies at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor. We seekapplicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research,teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on afull-time (100% FTE) basis for a nine-month academic appointment,(3-year term, renewable) beginning September 16, 2027.
The base salary range for this position will be $10,200 - $10,500per month during the nine-month academic year ($91,800 - $94,500annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wagedetermination.
The successful candidate will be expected to engage with:
1) approaches to teaching, scholarship, and/or service that integratesocial justice considerations,
2) transformational learning,innovative pedagogy, and engaged scholarship in an inclusive and interdisciplinary culture of learning,
3) pedagogical approaches for teaching in classroom-based, hybrid and online settings, and
4) community connections and outreach efforts within a community,clinical, or public health context.
Our interdisciplinary school provides all SNHS faculty with the opportunity to engage in creative and innovative approaches tohealth-related courses and scholarship. Our academic programs arepoised for exciting new directions in the coming years. SNHScurrently offers the following degrees:
1) a RN to BSN degree,
2) a BA degree in Health Studies emphasizing community/public health and social justice,
3) a Master’s of Nursing (MN) emphasizingeducation, leadership, and community/global health,
4) a Master’sof Science in Community Health and Social Justice. We also havethree minors in Health Studies, Global Health, and Health Education and Promotion. All faculty are expected to contribute across our programs and synergize with the department's mission, which is toadvance social justice, health, and nursing practice through innovative pedagogy, research, and community engagement.
