JOB SUMMARY: The Substitute School Technology Specialist (STS) is responsible for school-based technical support for students and staff to ensure working technology hardware and software to fulfill educational requirements and needs. STS Substitutes will work directly with teachers and students to ensure that technical systems and hardware continue to function in the absence of the regular STS. Typical duties include, but aren’t limited to, helping teachers and students troubleshoot basichardware and software issues, support staff in connecting to presentation systems, and working with the Technology Department to elevate technical issues.

Substitute STSs will attend training before taking any STS Substitute positions to ensure that skills are developed that support success.

SALARY: 2026-27 Substitute Pay Rates are pending; 25-26 Sub Pay Rate: $29.86/hour based on the ESP Salary Schedule.

WORK YEAR/HOURS

Work hours will vary based on the assignment. Assignments are chosen by the substitute through our absence management system.

BENEFITS

Substitutes become benefit eligible after subbing for 630 hours during the school year. Your coverage would go from the first of the month after reaching the 630 hoursthough 8/31. After reaching 630 hours for two school years in a row, your coverage would be continuous for the following school year.
