Title: Assistant Professor in Supply Chain Management &Operations

The School of Business at the University of Washington invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Supply Chain Management and Operations, with an anticipated startdate of September 16, 2027. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in adiverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis (100% FTE) for a 9-month academic year, 3-year renewable appointment beginning September 16,2027.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research program and Scholarly Academic status as defined by AACSB;publish in leading academic journals; teach a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses in domains such as Operations Management, Business Statistics, Supply Chain Management,Information Systems, Business Analytics, and/or Artificial Intelligence; and provide service to the School, the University,and the community. Applicants from research areas including Supply Chain Management,Operations Management, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, Management Science, and related fields are encouraged to apply.

We especially welcome candidates whose research connects supply chain and operations with AI,machine learning, data-driven decision making, digital and enterprise systems, resilience, sustainability, and technology-enabled process innovation. Positive factors for consideration include a doctorate from a highly regarded,research-intensive U.S. institution or a comparably stronginternational institution.

We are well known for our undergraduate,MBA, and MS Accounting programs, and enrollment has been growing ata fast pace. The School’s Supply Chain and Operations faculty are activescholars whose work has been published in leading journalsincluding

Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Operations Research, Decision Sciences, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, among others . The Supply Chain and Operations faculty cover courses in Statistics, Introductory Operations and Project Management, a widerange of Supply Chain Management courses, Information Systems, and recently launched courses in Business Analytics and AI, across bothour undergraduate and graduate curriculum.

The School of Business is an undepartmentalized School and encourages collegiality across the entire faculty. Faculty membersshould expect to interact with colleagues from other business disciplines. As part of UW tri-campus system, faculty members havecomplete access to the computing and library resources of the University of Washington.
