WSDOT is currently seeking several Construction Compliance Inspector (TE2)'s to support the I-405/SR 167 Program based in Bothell, WA. In these roles, you will play a key part in ensuring major transportation projects are constructed in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations. You will work closely with project teams and contractors to verify compliance, document progress, and support the successful delivery of complex infrastructure improvements that benefit communities across the region.

Your work directly supports WSDOT’s mission by helping deliver reliable, cost-effective transportation systems that improve mobility and strengthen communities across the region.

These positions are primarily field-based and involves working on active construction sites in a variety of weather conditions, with frequent travel to job sites throughout the region.

Among the varied range of responsibilities held within this role, you will:

• Perform daily inspections of Design-Build construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, and quality standards.
• Document inspection activities through detailed daily reports, photos, and project tracking systems.
• Communicate non-compliance issues to project staff and contractors, documenting and tracking resolution through established systems.
• Complete construction documentation to support contract records, including compliance tracking, audits, and field reviews.
• Conduct audits and verify contractor and subcontractor compliance with contract requirements, including wage rate interviews and on-site reviews.
• Perform materials verification inspections and testing in both field and lab settings, including concrete and soil testing.
• Transport materials, samples, and equipment, and work in environments that may include uneven terrain, heavy equipment, and active traffic.
• Share knowledge and support the training of new inspectors on standard practices, procedures, and documentation requirements.

The following qualifications are also required:

• A valid driver’s license and the ability to operate state-owned vehicles.
• Ability to maneuver and transport various materials and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
