Summary
Provides leadership and oversight for Electrical Engineering teams within Greenpoint’s Engineering Department, ensuring delivery of high‑quality engineering solutions on‑time and on‑budget. The electrical team is responsible for product research, design, modification, installation, integration, certification, and testing of aircraft interior electrical systems for Commercial, VIP, and Special Mission aircraft applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensures adherence to schedule, budget and quality in accordance with program requirements.
- Leads and manages a team of Engineers to design/certify aircraft modifications for systems such as air‑conditioning, heating, cabin management, in‑flight entertainment and communication, electrical power distribution and conversion, personal power, interior lighting, potable and waste‑water systems, smoke and fire detection, security and camera.
- Ensures technical requirements for engineering designs are met.
- Leads the team to produce designs that account for design‑to‑cost, design‑for‑installation, and design‑for‑manufacturing.
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training and evaluating staff; makes recommendations, initiates promotions, transfers and disciplinary action.
- Conducts 1:1 discussions, annual reviews, mid‑year reviews and salary adjustments.
- Sets quality standards for the engineering department and establishes processes and standards for the discipline.
- Coaches, trains and mentors a team of Design Engineers for efficient work.
- Develops analytical tools, databases and workflow procedures as needed.
- Manages multiple priorities, makes decisions on task priority and team assignment.
- Works closely and constructively with other departments to gain consensus on design strategy.
- Communicates clearly with team, other departments and vendors to facilitate smooth completion of designs.
- Prepares staffing plans, anticipates critical‑path issues and sets schedule to meet program requirements.
- Assists with bids and cost estimations for new programs.
- Maintains reliable attendance, punctuality and full‑shift work.
- Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering; minimum 8 years industry experience; at least 4 years of leading a team of engineers with a proven track record of team building and talent development. Aerospace background required.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person (US Citizen, Permanent Resident not working for a foreign company/government, or political asylum seeker).
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Ability to motivate, coach and manage a team including conducting annual performance reviews.
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of aircraft interiors, drawing development, installation and FAA requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; excellent technical, conceptual and financial skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and handle abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to work well independently and cross‑functionally.
- Strong time‑management and problem‑solving skills.
- Physical ability: sit for extended periods, lift up to 10–25 pounds, maintain color vision.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work outside core business hours as required.
Expected Washington salary range: $ – $ USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location and other factors permitted by law.
