Working under the direction of the Assistant Controller
, the Fiscal Specialist 2 provides fiscal support and accounting work in accounts payable and/or other accounting services to the College in a timely and accurate manner. This position performs complex fiscal support functions including analysis, reconciliation, and interpretation of financial data to ensure compliance with state regulations and institutional policies.

This position will also assist the Finance team in contributing toward efforts to further develop community, diversity, access, success, learning, innovation, and environmental stewardship with the day-to-day campus culture and practices. The Fiscal Specialist 2 works closely with all members of the finance team and assists in a variety of duties including, but not limited to credit card reconciliation, account reconciliation and bank reconciliation including identifying discrepancies, analyzing root causes, and recommending corrective actions.

As the Fiscal Specialist 2, it is expected that the following qualities will be demonstrated daily: a high degree of understanding and empathy for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors, as well as the ability to encourage the inclusion of all voices in decision-making, promoting equity in all areas, and actively working against institutionalized norms of oppression against historically marginalized people.

Initial Salary: $3,840.00 - $4,320.00 Monthly DOE + 5% King County Premium Pay (KCPP)

Finance Office Operations & Accounts Payable:

• Analyze financial transactions and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with state regulations, institutional policies, and audit requirements
• Perform detailed account, bank, and credit card reconciliations; investigate variances and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Monitor expenditure activity and identify irregularities, trends, or discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions as appropriate
• Review, process, and reconcile purchasing and reimbursement documents to ensure accuracy of liability and expenditure accounts in the general ledger
