About the Role
As a Personal Banker
, you'll act as a trusted financial partner for our members, helping them navigate important financial decisions and achieve their goals. You'll build lasting relationships, identify members' financial needs, and recommend tailored products and services that create real value.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with people, thrives in a sales and service environment, and is motivated by helping others succeed financially.
What You'll Do
- Welcome members warmly and create positive first impressions
- Provide exceptional service in person, over the phone, and via email
- Build strong, long-term relationships by becoming a trusted financial resource
Guide Members Toward Financial Success
- Conduct comprehensive financial needs assessments
- Recommend and open financial products and services, including:
- Checking and savings accounts
- Consumer loan products
- Credit cards
- Other financial solutions designed to meet member goals
- Educate members on products, services, and self-service tools that can simplify their financial lives
Support Daily Banking Operations
- Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, payments, and other transactions accurately and efficiently
- Perform account maintenance and updates while adhering to credit union policies and procedures
- Maintain detailed and accurate member documentation
Solve Problems and Create Solutions
- Address member questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy
- Resolve issues promptly and effectively
- Escalate complex matters when appropriate to ensure positive outcomes
Contribute to Branch Success
- Identify opportunities to connect members with beneficial products and services
- Support branch growth goals through referrals and relationship development
- Stay current on products, industry trends, and regulatory requirements through ongoing training
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of banking, credit union, or financial services experience
- Strong customer/member service skills in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building abilities
- Basic understanding of financial products and services
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Proficiency with computers, financial systems, and digital tools
