Job Overview
This is a Per Diem (as needed) position with no benefits. The Seattle Children’s Alyssa Burnett Adult Life Center (ABC) is located in Bothell, WA, and provides lifelong learning and recreation opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
ResponsibilitiesProvide direct support for participants taking recreational classes through Adult Life Skills Center. Participants in the program are 18 and older, and may have a variety of developmental, emotional, and behavioral problems, including Autism Spectrum Disorders. Duties may include managing participants before and after classes, providing direct support in small groups or individually as needed with adult participants helping prepare and clean classrooms.
This position will work in collaboration with members of the staff including:
Operations Lead, Program Manager, Instructors and other Classroom Assistants. Provide oversight of participants in classes and community‑based outings, adhering to staffing ratios. Work to develop rapport with participants, effectively engaging them in tasks and classes.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Required Credentials- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in a community‑based setting.
- Experience working with multi‑system involved adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental disabilities in a community or inpatient setting.
- Psychology, Social Work, Sociology Bachelor Degree.
- WA State Driver’s License.
$21.64 - $32.45 per hour
Salary InformationThis compensation range was calculated based on full‑time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
