Position Summary

The Systems Engineer, IT Shared Services, under the supervision of the Director of IT, serves as the primary liaison for network‑related projects supporting manufacturing, quality control, and facilities/engineering teams. As the site’s subject matter expert on all aspects of IT systems infrastructure, this individual will oversee the day‑to‑day monitoring and administration of local servers, storage, and application services, ensuring a secure, reliable, and high‑performing IT environment.

The Systems Engineer will provide network support to staff and resolve related issues for all site and remote operations. The candidate will principally manage, monitor, and optimize the network infrastructure across the Bothell site (IT QC, MFG, and corporate environments) and will lead efforts related to system onboarding, configuration, patching, upgrades, and integrations of local, plant‑wide, and corporate IT systems and solutions.

The candidate should have at least 5 years’ experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare environments is required, with expertise supporting systems architecture within Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Quality System settings. The candidate should be familiar with IT/OT convergence, GMP requirements, and process automation system protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Possess expertise in systems infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, operating systems, and cloud solutions
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system‑related issues across teams
  • Plan, configure, and implement system integrations for applications, devices, and platforms
  • Maintain technical system documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Proactively identify and resolve system performance, security, and reliability issues
  • Coordinate system activities, upgrades, and incidents locally and with global teams as needed
  • Deliver training to internal teams regarding system best practices, security, and new functionalities
  • Prepare, schedule, and implement system maintenance plans and upgrade cycles
  • Develop and present system performance and incident reports to IT and business leadership
Working Conditions
  • Work will be performed in a normal office environment as well as GMP laboratory or manufacturing processing facility.

Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a life sciences, engineering, or technology discipline,
  • or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
Experience
  • 5+ years of direct experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT systems infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization, operating systems, cloud platforms) in regulated environments, preferably within pharma/biotech/healthcare manufacturing settings.
  • Professional certification is preferred, including Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Server+, or equivalent. Advanced certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Client Certified Professional (VCP), or similar are a plus.
  • Proficient in supporting ITIL processes—including Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management—with specific expertise in troubleshooting and resolving system‑related incidents.
  • Solid understanding of global Health Authority regulations, current industry practices, and application of guidelines pertaining to secure system architectures for control of computerized systems and electronic records.
