Position SummaryThe Systems Engineer, IT Shared Services, will serve as the primary liaison for network and infrastructure initiatives supporting manufacturing, quality control, and facilities/engineering teams. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role acts as the site’s subject matter expert for IT systems infrastructure, overseeing the monitoring, administration, and optimization of local servers, storage, and application services to ensure a secure, reliable, and high-performing environment.
This position will manage and enhance network infrastructure across the Bothell site (IT QC, Manufacturing, and corporate environments) while leading system onboarding, configuration, patching, upgrades, and integrations. Candidates must have 5+ years of experience within pharma, biotech, or healthcare environments
, with strong knowledge of GMP requirements, IT/OT convergence, and process automation protocols.
- Manage and support systems infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtualization, operating systems, and cloud platforms
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and resolve system-related issues across teams
- Plan, configure, and implement integrations for enterprise applications, devices, and platforms
- Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, and SOPs
- Proactively identify and remediate performance, security, and reliability risks
- Coordinate upgrades, incidents, and system activities with local and global IT teams
- Deliver training on system best practices, security protocols, and new technologies
- Develop maintenance schedules and execute upgrade cycles
- Prepare and present system performance metrics and incident reports to leadership
Work will be performed in a standard office setting as well as GMP laboratories and manufacturing facilities.
Qualifications EducationBachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline — or equivalent biotech/pharma industry experience.
Required Experience- 5+ years designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure in regulated environments (pharma/biotech/healthcare preferred)
- Strong knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management)
- Understanding of global health authority regulations and secure computerized system architectures
- Experience documenting system configurations, change controls, and audit-ready reports
- Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as MES, ERP, LIMS, QMS, validation/test systems, and LMS
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve performance, availability, and security issues across mission-critical systems
- CompTIA Server+
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), or similar (plus)
