Job Summary
This position provides leadership and supervision of school-based School Technology Specialist (STS) staff, including their daily support work and annual projects. In collaboration with Technology Services leadership and building principals, the STS Supervisor establishes STS work performance standards and expectations, conducts annual evaluations consistent with the ESP Collective Bargaining Agreement, and ensures aligned and effective technology service and support across all district schools.
The position provides technical guidance on complex matters, leads staff training and development, supervises STS work in hardware and software support, and drives the implementation of technology projects and standards in support of district goals.

Reports to the Assistant Director of Technology Support.
Working ConditionsRequired to meet inflexible deadlines; required to concentrate mentally and visually for extended periods of time; occasionally required to deal with distraught or frustrated people; occasionally required to work flexible and irregular hours to complete tasks, occasionally required to lift and carry equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds; required to operate a motor vehicle and drive between sites; manual dexterity and precision required to make network connections and operate a computer.

12 month position; 260 days per year; 8 hours per day
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
Completion of a two-year post-secondary degree program in information technology, computer science, or a related field and three (3) years of experience providing technical support in a multi-platform environment, including one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience, required. Experience supporting technology in a K-12 educational environment.
Allowable SubstitutionAlternative combinations of education and experience will be evaluated for comparability.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of the day-to-day support work performed by school-based technology staff; knowledge of operating systems, computer platforms, hardware peripherals, and software applications common to K-12 environments; ability to lead, supervise, and evaluate a distributed team across multiple schools; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with building principals, district leadership, and staff; ability to read, write, and communicate technical information effectively with all stakeholders;
ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others; ability to work irregular and flexible hours as required; ability to establish effective work priorities and to plan and organize work effectively; demonstrated initiative, project management, and problem-solving skills.
Valid Washington State driver's license.
