This is a hands‑on technician role focused on executing physical/mechanical testing using provided tools, equipment, and documented protocols.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Receive testing requests/work orders from R&D.
  • Review provided test protocols (some fully written, some updated).
  • Execute tests such as mechanical stress tests, equipment‑based evaluations.
  • Operate equipment, follow procedures, run correct programs, and handle samples/products directly.
  • Document test results and maintain accuracy throughout the testing workflow.
  • Extremely strong attention to detail. Must follow written protocols exactly as documented

  • Trustworthiness and reliability — the prior contractor struggled with independent execution.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hands, tools, and lab equipment.
  • Ability to follow instructions precisely and work safely/accurately with equipment.

  • Participates in complex, multi‑phased laboratory projects, handling resources, following timelines and budgets to ensure successful completion, working under limited supervision.
  • Exercises autonomy within established procedures and minimal supervision, making informed decisions to resolve moderately complex problems and drive results.
  • Supports process innovation by analyzing data to identify bottlenecks, proposing, and implementing improvements, and measuring the impact on laboratory efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Serves as a technical expert and advisor, providing guidance and support to junior and mid‑level team members on advanced laboratory techniques, data analysis, and project management methodologies.
  • Identifies and aids the adoption of new technologies, researching emerging trends, analyzing their potential benefits, and leading the integration of these advancements into laboratory workflows.
  • Participates in strategic collaborations with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, innovators, vendors, and senior management, effectively communicating complex technical information, and fostering strong collaborative relationships.
  • Handles a designated laboratory area, independently ensuring all equipment is calibrated, maintained, and functioning optimally to support assigned projects.
  • Inspects and implements limited continuous improvement projects, optimizing internal processes within the laboratory environment to streamline operations and enhance overall productivity.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves highly complex technical problems, applying advanced knowledge and analytical skills to diagnose issues, develop solutions, and ensure project progress.
  • Follows a problem‑solving perspective, identifying key patterns from incomplete data and proposing innovative solutions that may not be readily apparent.
Minimum required

Education:

High School Diploma, Vocational Education.

Must‑Have Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Hands‑on lab or mechanical testing experience
  • Ability to follow detailed written instructions without deviation
  • High attention to detail and reliability
  • Comfortable working independently after onboarding
  • Experience with mechanical test fixtures, life testers, or durability testing
  • Prior technician experience in consumer products, hardware testing, or lab environments
Preferred

Skills:
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS)
How We Work Together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office‑based teams, this means working in‑person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full‑time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

The pay range for this role is $30-35 per hour.

For this project, you’ll be contracted via a Randstad company as a temporary worker/contractor and placed at our Client.
