Overview

PRESS BRAKE OPERATOR —
175 ton x 12’ Accurpress

• Set up and operate a 175 ton x 12’ Accurpress press brake machine.
• Bend and form sheet metal as needed per job ticket and issued print.
• Specifications:
  • Size of bends: 1" to 120"
  • Sheet metal thickness: 20 ga to 3/8"
  • Sheet metal weights: 5 lb to 250 lb each
  • Sheet metal dimensions: up to 5’ x 10’
• Familiarity with tolerances: ±1 degree.
• Self-inspect and evaluate the quality of products before forwarding to the next step.
• Assist with other duties to support company operations (cross-training may be required).
• Perform work at or above pre-established performance objectives.
• Keep the work area clean and organized; follow 5S guidelines.
• Follow work direction from higher-level welding personnel.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by identifying and communicating basic process improvements.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities/tasks.
• Proven reliability — attendance and punctuality.
• 50 lb maximum lifting weight; frequent use of overhead cranes required. Repetitious bending and standing for extended periods.
• All other duties as needed to support company goals (cross-training to other roles).

• Blueprint reading
• Forklift and crane operations
• Mathematical problem-solving ability
• Demonstrate appropriate use of tools, technology, and equipment
• Knowledge of mathematical principles such as decimals, percentages, fractions, and whole numbers
• Material identification – steel, aluminum, stainless

• Frequent reaching and lifting 0-50 lbs. Overhead cranes available.
• Requires ability to grip with hands/fingers for sustained periods.
• Repetitious bending and standing for extended periods.
• Frequent bending/twisting/turning
• Frequent and extended standing and walking
• Operation of equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts
• Remaining alert to surroundings when operating equipment
• Ability to reason and partake in critical decision making
• Attention to detail and concentration on tasks

• High School diploma or GED
• 2-3 years press brake setup and operations experience preferred
• Training/Experience in overhead crane and forklift use
