Schwing Bioset is seeking a skilled Fabrication-Machining Supervisor to join our dynamic team in a fast‑paced manufacturing facility located in North Branch, MN. The role is responsible for managing day‑to‑day fabrication and machining processes and team to ensure compliance with the high company standards of quality, reliability, safety, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all aspects of weld/fabrication shop work requirements including order flow, scheduling, quality control and personnel.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality control records.
  • Coordinate with other department managers and supervisors, sales team, project managers, transportation and purchasing department.
  • Ensure weld/fabrication employees follow instructions of shop orders to control product quality.
  • Manage and control weld consumables and shop supplies in accordance with the company Quality System and Consumable Manufacturer requirements.
  • Administer and document training of employees on new welding processes and fabrication techniques.
  • Administer and document safety meetings as related to fabrication.
  • Interface with third‑party inspectors for quality requirements.
  • Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies/procedures for workers.
  • Attend weekly production meetings to obtain production goals.
  • Assign production workers weekly goals/projects to meet production goals and review daily to ensure tasks are on track.
  • Assist with equipment assembly as required to ensure schedule timeline.
  • Train production workers on established assembly practices and procedures.
  • Inspect and review in‑process work to ensure compliance with project requirements (Build Book).
  • Inspect and sign‑off on final equipment assembly prior to moving equipment to Test.
  • Consult needed changes on released equipment with engineering department and communicate required action to assigned production worker.
  • Communicate actual or potential production bottlenecks to Production Manager and Production Planner and facilitate corrections.
  • Maintain production supplies and consumables.
  • Inventory supplies once per week and order as needed.
  • Monitor production tools for wear and needed repair or replacement.
  • Perform daily and weekly safety inspections of production tools and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform reasonably similar or related duties as instructed by Production Manager.
  • Conduct all activities within the guidelines of all company policies, procedures, and work rules.
Requirements
  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • 2+ years experience in a fabrication shop with a mechanical background and good understanding of weld process in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2+ years experience in machining preferred.
  • Specific knowledge of roll forming, sheet metal or metal fabrication.
  • Prior experience in production planning and scheduling is preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk/stand several hours during an 8‑hour shift.
  • Knowledge of fabrication safety requirements.
  • Must be flexible to work extra hours when needed.
  • Good organization skills and can multi‑task under tight deadlines.
  • Self‑starter with great attention to detail who can work in a fast‑paced team environment.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
