Position Overview
The Parts Clerk supports equipment maintenance operations by sourcing, ordering, tracking, and distributing parts and supplies needed for mobile and plant equipment repairs. This role works closely with the Equipment Manager, Shop Foreman, technicians, and vendors to ensure timely availability of parts while maintaining accurate inventory and records.
Key Responsibilities Parts & Inventory Management- Source and procure parts from multiple vendors
- Manage parts room inventory, ensuring proper stock levels and cost control
- Receive, inspect, and distribute incoming parts to mechanics and other departments
- Track and manage core returns to ensure vendor credits are received
- Maintain daily fuel inventory records
- Create purchase orders and process invoices with correct coding
- Enter work requests and work orders into systems (Viewpoint / CMMS / Infield)
- Maintain accurate filing and documentation
- Assist Equipment Manager, Supervisor, and Shop Foreman as needed
- Coordinate timely delivery of parts for maintenance and repair
- Support equipment team projects and ad hoc requests
- Serve as point of contact for vendors and general public
- Answer phones and coordinate parts requests
- Build and maintain vendor relationships
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2–5 years of related experience preferred
- Valid forklift certification required
Skills & Knowledge
- Familiarity with maintenance systems (CMMS, Viewpoint, etc.) preferred
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple parts requests simultaneously
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Willingness to work weekends as needed
- Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to assist in other areas
- Frequent standing, walking, and computer use
- Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting (up to 25 lbs occasionally)
- Exposure to:
Moderate noise, Moving equipment, Outdoor elements (weather conditions occasionally)
