RATE: $65/hr FULL Time

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in special education classrooms or resource room settings, with a background in behavior modification. Collaboration with academic teachers in a team environment is essential.

Qualifications:

• NJ Teacher of the Handicapped OR Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification, plus the appropriate teaching endorsement
• Knowledge of effective teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities
• Experience teaching students with special needs (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Must pass required criminal history background check and provide proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment
• Guide students toward curriculum goals and objectives
• Assess student performance and provide progress updates
• Identify students needing additional support services
• Communicate regularly with colleagues, parents, and students
• Maintain high expectations for student performance and behavior
• Participate in professional development and school meetings
• Perform related duties as assigned
