Position Overview

St. Paul School in North Canton, Ohio is seeking a passionate, faith‑filled, and student‑centered Music Teacher to join our school community for the remainder of the academic year. This part‑time position has the potential to transition into a full‑time role for the 2026–2027 school year. The Music Teacher will foster creativity, confidence, and reverence through music education while supporting the Catholic mission of the school.

The ideal candidate will be committed to forming students both musically and spiritually and will coordinate liturgical music for weekly school Mass.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Music Instruction (Grades PreK–8)
    • Provide engaging and developmentally appropriate music instruction
    • Teach foundational music theory, vocal techniques, rhythm, and performance skills
    • Introduce students to diverse musical styles and cultural traditions
    • Prepare students for school performances and seasonal programs
  • Liturgical Music Coordination
    • Plan and coordinate music for weekly school Mass
    • Select appropriate liturgical music aligned with the Church calendar
    • Rehearse students for Mass participation (cantors, choir, responses)
    • Collaborate with the Pastor and school administration to support the spiritual life of the school
  • Performance & School Community Engagement
    • Organize and lead Christmas, spring, and other special performances
    • Support school events requiring music leadership
    • Foster student confidence through solo and group opportunities
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (required)
  • Valid Ohio teaching license (preferred)
  • Practicing Catholic or strong understanding of Catholic liturgy and traditions (preferred)
  • Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students
  • Ability to lead vocal ensembles and accompany (piano proficiency preferred)
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Collaborative, flexible, and mission‑driven

Schedule & Future Opportunity
