TypicalResponsibilities Include:
- Supporting the lead instructor in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings.
- Provide instruction and remediation to students in the clinical practice/laboratory setting in support of program faculty and curriculum.
- Provide individual and group tutoring in support of program faculty and program curriculum.
- Perform and grade competency/practical testing in laboratory and clinical settings.
- Assist faculty in simulation competencies and/or demonstrations.
- Assist in the preparation of equipment and materials for labs.
- Support faculty in preparation of equipment and materials for clinical practice settings, such as:
- Monitor the safety and condition of equipment
- Monitor and organize the inventory of equipment and supplies
- Provide basic maintenance of equipment
- Collect and maintain data related to program assessment for college and accreditation requirements.
- Assist Clinical Coordinator with site visits.
- Minimum of an associate degree in surgical technology. Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years’ working experience in the operating room in the scrub role or as an instructor in a surgical technology program or a combination of both, within the last five years.
- Must have current knowledge of the surgical technology, strong communication and organization skills, along with the ability to think critically and make decisions.
- Must hold current credentials in the field of surgical technology through a nationally certified and accredited program by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
