Typical

Responsibilities Include:

Supporting the lead instructor in classroom, lab, and/or clinical settings.
Provide instruction and remediation to students in the clinical practice/laboratory setting in support of program faculty and curriculum.
Provide individual and group tutoring in support of program faculty and program curriculum.
Perform and grade competency/practical testing in laboratory and clinical settings.
Assist faculty in simulation competencies and/or demonstrations.
Assist in the preparation of equipment and materials for labs.
Support faculty in preparation of equipment and materials for clinical practice settings, such as:
Monitor the safety and condition of equipment
Monitor and organize the inventory of equipment and supplies
Provide basic maintenance of equipment
Collect and maintain data related to program assessment for college and accreditation requirements.
Assist Clinical Coordinator with site visits.

Required Qualifications Include:

Minimum of an associate degree in surgical technology. Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred.
Must have a minimum of 2 years’ working experience in the operating room in the scrub role or as an instructor in a surgical technology program or a combination of both, within the last five years.
Must have current knowledge of the surgical technology, strong communication and organization skills, along with the ability to think critically and make decisions.
Must hold current credentials in the field of surgical technology through a nationally certified and accredited program by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
