The Simulation Coordinator serves as the lead resource for simulation-based education, driving the integration of high-fidelity, low-fidelity, and virtual simulation technologies to enhance student learning, clinical judgment, and workforce readiness. This position is critical to ensuring that simulation is intentionally designed, consistently implemented, and effectively utilized to demonstrate student competency, including achievement of End-of-Program Student Learning Outcomes (EPSLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs).
The Simulation Coordinator provides leadership in faculty training, simulation implementation, competency validation, and technology integration, ensuring alignment with the INACSL Standards of Best Practice:
Simulation, Ohio Board of Nursing regulations, and accreditation requirements.
This role directly supports the Nursing Department’s priorities related to student success, clinical readiness, regulatory compliance, and the expanded use of simulation to supplement clinical learning experiences. This is a temporary, full-time grant‑funded position within the Nursing Department with a 200-day annual contract beginning 7/1/2026 and ending 10/31/2027.

- You are skilled at ensuring faculty competency in simulation equipment, scenario facilitation, debriefing techniques, and evaluation of student performance.
- You excel at maintaining simulation equipment, including high-, mid-, and low-fidelity manikins, task trainers, and related technologies.
- You possess strong knowledge of Ohio Board of Nursing (OAC Chapter 4723-5) regulations for pre-licensure nursing education
Responsibilities Include:
- Establishing standardized simulation practices to ensure consistency in student experience and evaluation.
- Integrating high-fidelity manikins, task trainers, and virtual simulation modalities to enhance clinical learning.
- Ensuring compliance with Ohio Administrative Code 4723-5 and accreditation requirements.
- Maintaining a centralized repository of simulation scenarios and instructional materials.
- Developing and delivering a structured faculty training program to ensure all faculty are prepared to implement simulation effectively.
- Troubleshooting technical and operational issues related to simulation delivery.
- Maintaining inventory, records, and documentation of simulation equipment and usage.
- Participating in department, division, and college committees.
- A minimum of a master’s degree in Nursing or a directly related healthcare discipline.
- Must be a Registered Nurse with a current, active, unrestricted license in the state of Ohio or a Compact license.
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent clinical nursing experience.
- Experience with simulation technologies including manikins, task trainers, and audiovisual systems.
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) required within 6 months of hire.
- Knowledge of Ohio Board of Nursing (OAC Chapter 4723-5) regulations for pre-licensure nursing education.
- Knowledge of INACSL Standards of Best Practice:
Simulation. - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with accreditation processes and program evaluation.
- Experience in faculty development or educational leadership.
