Do you enjoy biology, microbiology, or anatomy and physiology? Do you enjoy helping others succeed in their studies? If so, the Science Learning Center has an exciting opportunity for you to become a Student Course Mentor/Tutor!
Position SummaryThe Science Learning Center (SLC) is seeking a student tutor to support peers enrolled in Anatomy & Physiology I & II or Structure & Function. This role focuses on helping students develop a strong understanding of anatomical structures and physiological mechanisms through guided practice, concept clarification, and peer‑supported learning.
Schedule Requirements- Availability between 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- 10–20 hours per week
- Combination of daytime and at least one evening shift preferred

- Provide one‑on‑one and group tutoring for biology, microbiology, or anatomy and physiology courses.
- Create a welcoming and encouraging space for students to thrive academically.
- Break down complex topics using clear, engaging teaching methods.
- Collaborate with faculty and team members to continuously improve the learning experience.
- Offer constructive feedback to help students overcome challenges and build confidence.
- Enthusiasm for biology‑related courses with a strong understanding of the material.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and make learning approachable.
- Organized and reliable, with strong time management abilities.
- Previous tutoring experience is a plus, but not required.
- Commitment to creating a positive learning atmosphere.
- Faculty recommendation or referral letter
- Completion of both A&P I & II with strong academic performance
- Comfort using technology for learning support (e.g., Zoom, digital whiteboards)
