Part-time Instructor
Stark State College is seeking a passionate and dedicated part-time instructor to join our Industrial Technology Department. The successful candidate will contribute to the college's commitment to academic excellence, student success, and community engagement. Typical responsibilities include:
- Teaching courses in the Industrial Technology area.
- Courses are assigned based upon the candidate's technical expertise in industrial applications.
- The candidate must be available to work during the day and evening.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures and hands-on lab sessions in subjects such as manufacturing technology, automation, and electrical systems.
- Develop instructional materials and assessments that align with program outcomes.
- Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback to support learning and skill development.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and supervise the use of lab and classroom equipment.
- Stay current with advancements in technology and industry trends to ensure course relevance.
- Participate in curriculum development and program improvement initiatives.
- Support student success through advising, mentoring, and career guidance.
Required qualifications include:
- Associate degree and/or journeyman trade status required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of related industry experience.
- Strong applied industrial technology skills.
- Must be an organized, self-motivated individual who works well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a positive and professional attitude.
- Must be available to work both day and evening shifts.
The State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) is available to all faculty members. The College contributes 14% of the employee's wages for the retirement benefit and the employee contributes 14% of their wages toward the retirement benefit. Instructional fees for credit, audit, or non-credit courses offered at Stark State College will be paid by the College from the income of the College budgeted for employee benefits up to an amount per academic semester not to exceed such fees for six credit hours per semester.
