Why this role matters
Delivering complex, PLC-controlled machinery on time and on spec requires rigorous planning, relentless communication, and disciplined execution. You will be the hub connecting customers, sales, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and leadership—keeping order-to-commission projects synchronized and risk-aware.
What you will own- Customer and sales engagement to capture technical scope, delivery dates, and constraints.
- Requirements translation: turn customer needs into actionable system requirements.
- Information integrity: identify and resolve missing data needed for design and assembly.
- Feasibility review: analyze quotations, specifications, and contracts for technical fit and risk.
- Schedule leadership: build and maintain detailed Microsoft Project schedules; track changes and issue updates across stakeholders.
- Portfolio coordination: reconcile cross-project priorities (scope, resourcing, timing).
- Team leadership: guide engineering and manufacturing project/equipment engineers; support buy-off and acceptance testing.
- Operations integration: partner with manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and planning throughout execution.
- Performance visibility: routinely communicate project status, resource utilization, and metrics.
- Governance: protect scope, quality, cost, and delivery; recommend improvements to PM practices using lean methods.
- BS in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Exposure to complex mechanical systems and PLC-based automation.
- Strong planning/analysis skills, risk management, and crisp communication.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Project and proficient in the Microsoft suite.
- Continuous improvement and lean thinking applied to project delivery.
- Machine build/assembly familiarity and mechanical design awareness.
- Budgeting and forecasting literacy; root cause analysis; process development.
- Comfort with SOPs and ERP software.
- Strength in speaking, persuasion, reading complex documentation, service orientation, active learning, complex problem solving, coordination, and deductive reasoning.
- Travel: approximately 5–20% (as needed).
- Workweek: typically 40–47 hours; may include on-call, evenings, or weekends. Longer weeks may occur during peak demand.
