Job TitleCivil Design Group Manager – Columbus, OH
Key Responsibilities- Lead multiple design teams in daily operations.
- Develop staffing needs and distribute work to balance workloads.
- Work with team leaders/project managers to monitor scope, schedule, budget, and overall health of projects.
- Monitor group workload, utilization, and billable hours.
- Collaborate with Civil Service Line leaders to identify additional staffing needs (training, personnel).
- Mentor staff while executing office and company growth plan.
- Prepare proposals/ contracts and manage projects.
- Successfully manage and deliver work tasks on time.
- Coordinate with fellow MSG staff across services such as Surveying, Environmental, Geotechnical, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, Landscape Architecture, Funding Strategies/Grant Writing, and Construction Administration.
- Proven record of managing multiple civil design engineers or teams, projects, and disciplines.
- Proven management process/style.
- Willingness to mentor and teach younger staff.
- Private development experience.
