Civil Project Engineer – supports a broad portfolio of commercial site development projects across the Midwest, working closely with licensed engineers and multidisciplinary teams from feasibility and permitting through final design and construction documentation.

• Support licensed engineers in the design and preparation of commercial and site development projects.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical designs, and construction document packages.
• Develop feasibility studies, due diligence reports, zoning studies, and early‑stage planning documents.
• Perform stormwater modeling, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis, and drainage design.
• Prepare cost estimates and detailed design plans for commercial and mixed‑use developments.
• Coordinate with internal MSG teams including Surveying, Geotechnical, Environmental, Structural, Traffic, Transportation, and Construction Services.
• Apply agency standards and design criteria to support permitting and project approvals.
• Engage with reviewing agencies to address comments and guide projects through approvals.
• Support projects from conceptual design through construction documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.
• EI certification in the State of Ohio required, with the ability to obtain PE or PLA within 6–12 months.
• Practical experience in site development design and plan preparation.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading, pipe networks, and plan set development.
• Experience applying municipal, county, and state design standards (e.g., City of Columbus, surrounding counties, ODOT).
• Experience preparing Hydraulic/Hydrologic reports strongly preferred.
• Roadway design and survey experience a plus.
• Utility design or utility field inspection experience a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable coordinating with reviewing agencies, municipalities, and internal project teams.
