About the Role
Are you currently in school, learning about the new and fun ways of machines and the mechanical side of this growing industry? Are you a big fan of chocolate? Come join our team here at Fannie May, a division of Ferrero USA in North Canton, Ohio, as our Mechanical Intern! In this position you will learn about the current processes of our machines that have made the chocolate that has been enjoyed over the last 100 years.
You will develop improvements on the processes and trainings for each machine and also have opportunities to learn and implement lean manufacturing methodologies such as 5S, AM, Kaizen, SMED, etc. If interested please take a look at the responsibilities below and apply! This position is an INTERNSHIP that would be for 6 months up to a year. This is a 30‑hour a week position and the schedule can be flexible.
This is a PAID internship, however this position does not include 401k, health insurance, time off, etc. This position is located in North Canton, Ohio and at this time we are only considering candidates based in the local area.
- Assist in the development of new processes and training on all machines
- Work with MS Office computer tools to create final versions of work instructions
- Conduct time studies analysis to determine rates and cycles on production lines
- Perform all duties within GMP and SOP standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Strong computer skills, experience working with MS Excel and MS Word
- Strong analytical, investigative, and organizational skills
- Must demonstrate good insight and ability to develop mutual solutions to challenges
- Able to work in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Previous experience in the industrial or engineering field preferred
- Students pursuing a degree in an industrial or engineering field preferred
