Job Summary

The KPB Sr Portfolio Strategist advises clients on appropriate investment strategies, constructs and customizes portfolios to meet client needs or preferences, and collaborates with the relationship team to ensure investment advice is integrated with all aspects of clients' planning and personal goals. The role delivers effective advice, strategies, solutions, and service that exceed client expectations, meeting or exceeding revenue growth goals by sourcing new opportunities and expanding existing client relationships.

Functions
  • Responsible for overall portfolio construction and investment strategy needs of clients.
  • Reviews, monitors, and modifies investment portfolio construction in accordance with client objectives and investment policy, and initiates changes consistent with strategy.
  • Maintains deep expertise in financial markets, alternative investments, and third‑party solutions; participates in investment meetings and committees.
  • Engages proactively with clients to ensure investment advice meets their needs, communicating portfolio changes, new ideas, and market events.
  • Collaborates with the relationship management team on reviews, offering ideas and strategies to actualize client aspirations and position the Private Bank as a trusted advisor.
  • Interfaces with Key Private Bank advisors and team members to integrate investment advice with clients' tax, estate, retirement plans, etc.
  • Provides timely feedback to Relationship Manager and/or Client Experience Manager on important events and discussions with clients.
  • Co‑confers with clients’ other internal and external advisors to advise on asset allocation and overall strategy execution.
  • Contributes to meeting or exceeding individual growth goals, including lead development, revenue expansion, and team growth.
  • Builds and deepens client relationships to drive new revenue growth and enhance the bank’s image.
  • Participates in professional associations and establishes Center of Influence (COI) relationships.
  • Articulates the competitive advantages of the Key Private Bank platform and process as a Portfolio Strategist.
  • Shares intellectual capital with the Relationship Management Team during pre‑call and weekly sales meetings.
  • Implements portfolio changes for select relationships to execute strategy.
  • Utilizes centralized resources for portfolio rebalancing, trading, and administrative activities.
  • Maintains compliance with all internal policies and procedures, including Reg9 reviews and other compliance reporting functions.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business‑related field (preferred) or equivalent experience (required).
Work Experience
  • Minimum 15 years in the investment management field (preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Professional designation (preferred).

  • Build and maintain relationships with Centers of Influence / COIs to generate referrals and expand potential client networks.
  • Manage relationships with High Net Worth clients, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored investment advice.
  • Proficient in using an open‑architecture approach to investment management to select best‑in‑class solutions from a wide range of providers.
