Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Indirect Purchasing Coordinator to support daily purchasing operations. This role focuses on vendor setup, processing purchasing requests, maintaining documentation, obtaining required forms from suppliers, and helping ensure procurement activities stay organized and on schedule. This is a hands-on administrative purchasing role that requires strong follow-through, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
This is an onsite, hourly position. Our North Canton, Ohio office offers a welcoming and conveniently located work environment, including a cafeteria with hot meals, a coffee café, and a gym for employees. Candidates must currently reside in NE Ohio. Sponsorship and relocation are not available for this position.
Position SummaryFacilitate day to day Indirect Purchasing activities, including driving cost optimization, supplier accountability, process excellence, and sourcing initiatives across categories.
Essential Functions- Vendor vetting and setup - requesting and receiving required paperwork
- Handle the purchasing of supplies, shop tools and other items needed for both the corporate office and the field.
- Assist with reporting, data entry, and basic spend analysis to support purchasing activities.
- Coordinate the implementation of new or updated national accounts, including overseeing office supplies, furniture, and travel.
- Support all functions across the Procurement Department.
- Assist the team with gathering vendor quotes, comparing pricing information, and supporting sourcing projects as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of administrative, purchasing support, office operations, vendor management, or related experience preferred.
- Will consider high school graduates with office experience, strong organizational skills, and demonstrated leadership through school, work, volunteer, or extracurricular activities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.
- Ability to identify processes needing improvement, and to recommend improvements.
- Ability to use independent judgment to make decisions.
- Basic familiarity with accounts payable and accounting processes is a plus
