As an Assembler is responsible for building and testing mechanical systems and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, blueprints, and precise measurements. Machine builders work in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, automotive, and robotics, constructing complex machines or machine components that are used in production processes.
Essential Functions- Assemble and test mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment according to technical specifications, blueprints, or schematics.
- Review detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure precise assembly and installation of machinery.
- Verify measurements and specifications to ensure all parts and components align.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and machines to fabricate or modify parts and components for machine assembly.
- Perform grinding, machining, or other necessary tasks.
- Test and calibrate machines and equipment after assembly to ensure functionality and safety standards are met.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues in mechanical systems or machinery, making repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests on completed machinery to ensure it meets required standards and specifications.
- Identify defects or issues and resolve them promptly.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment, ensuring tools, equipment, and machines are in safe working condition.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and team members to meet project requirements, communicating any potential delays, issues, or modifications.
- Maintain accurate records of parts, materials used, and work completed, documenting procedures and modifications made to original plans.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machine components.
- Ability to learn new tasks, remember processes, and maintain focus until task completion.
- Ability to complete tasks independently and meet productivity targets.
- Problem‑solving skills: troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Attention to detail: accuracy in assembly and testing is essential.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices when working with machinery and tools.
The employee frequently works with wiring and cabling. Work environment temperatures may fluctuate from hot to cold depending on the season. Depending on customer schedules, the department may prove to be very fast‑paced. Noise level is moderate.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand while building the machine. Employees will be expected to use their hands to handle parts and tools and to climb and/or balance. The employee may need to walk to other assembly bays, reach with arms, bend, crouch, sit on the floor, kneel, climb, talk, and hear.
The employee will often lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision required includes close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
This is a full‑time position, working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with overtime and Saturdays as needed.
